The MOC Section is a collective of midwives, students and birthworkers of color from various backgrounds and cultures who have come together to lift up the voice of midwives of color in the midwifery and social justice movements.
How to Become a Member of the MOC Section
Anyone who identifies as a Person of Color is welcome to join this section. The MANA MOC focuses on increasing awareness of the unique maternal and child health care issues, needs and concerns of People of Color; increasing the number of students and midwives of color; and addressing issues related to MCH health care disparities that vulnerable and marginalized populations and communities face.
How the MOC Section Works
The MOC Section has voluntary conference calls quarterly and a Yahoo e-group that keeps members connected on a daily basis to provide for support to each other, and members help one another with issues that are unique to our cultures and midwifery practices. MOC Section members are dedicated to helping more people of color who are choosing the midwifery route and need guidance and information.
